Byond Key: Legato_frio* Preferred Username: Frio937* Time with the LLA community: Estimated before 2009 Time as Administrator: 4 months then took a break Came back in Late October 2013. Current administrator rank: Administrator Have you ever been banned, if so why? I have banned via joke reasons. I have also banned myself when I felt I have gone over the line ICly. Have you ever been terminated from the admin team, if so why? Yes, during February I had been terminated from the admin team. I was being extremely adamant and disrespectful in my behavior towards RebelAmerica and judgement. I lashed out with negativity and I was rightfully terminated for my behavior. Tell me about yourself? I am Brendan M******, I work at R********.com as a customer loyalist specialist. Its my job to work hundreds of cases a day taking interesting situations and trying to resolve them in a manner that satisfies both what we are capable of doing and the customer's desires. What are your strengths? I am a quick study and learn from my mistakes. I realize I am human and I make mistakes but I do not put blame on others I simply study the mistakes I have made and learn from them. I excel at teaching new admins, I may not be the best admin myself but I am good at teaching what it means to judge a players intent. I am tough on trial-mins and love finding ways to test them to make them into better admin. Open-minded and ready to listen to any side of a situation in order give an unbiased opinion of a situation. There will be times where I say things to get on people's nerves but normally its so that I can get a fair assessment of their character. I can see that other head-mins have used that method before and it honestly worked quite well against my favor in the past. What are your weaknesses? I have noticed that many times I have been too quick to make judgments. I have been working on slowing down the process waiting a bit longer and gathering more information before making any unusual or important calls. I have poor memory involving major events. Though I am good at keeping notes and I can manage a lot of information over a long period of time in these notes. Because of this poor memory I have a hard time staying angry or holding grudges with people but I do understand the logical reasons why some people should not be fully forgiven without showing intent of change. I work 1pm-10pm central at a job that is a 1 hour drive to work and a 1 hour drive from work. These means that for 10 hours out of the day I am unable to log in and admin. Though, that same weakness allows me to be on the forums during that time making me available to contact for quite a bit of time consistently during the day. Why do you want this position? I love training trial-mins, Love this community and I believe that I could handle the responsibilities required for this role. What can you bring to this position that other candidates cannot? I bring my own personal blend of experience and understanding of this community. I have been with LLA for quite a while and I have always cherished its unique ability to look at a player based on their intent and not falling into ridged rules. We have always been able to look at every case on a individual basis and never take everything from an absolutist stand. What is the LLA to you? The LLA is a gaming community. A group of players who like similar games that work together to have enjoyment at those games. They play together on byond, steam and GoG.com. Just like all communities people come and go but it works like a psudo-family. Have you ever been in a position of leadership in the past outside of SS13 administration, explain? When I was working for my Bachelors of Science is Computer Programming I was put into situations where I had to lead team projects. Give me an example of a time you felt you went above and beyond the call of duty as an administrator? I never felt I have went above and beyond the call of duty as an administrator. This is volunteer work and I do out of my desire to help the community so no matter what actions I have taken to help the community is always within the call of duty. Staying up a couple hours later simply to make sure a case gets finished or burning time before a work shift is volunteer work. Have you ever been on a team where someone was not pulling their own weight? How did you handle it? Every team I have ever been on has someone that was not pulling their own weight. The best solution is not to ignore them and pick up the slack they are falling behind but to learn about them. If you can figure out someone's strengths and weaknesses they may not be able to do as much as everyone else but you can allow them to be involved in the group. Sure there will be some who pick up the slack but the feeling of participation with the entire team can help elevate the team-member. Tell me about a time when you had to give someone difficult feedback. How did you handle it? There are times when I must call up a customer and inform them that the estimated shipping dates have changed due to back orders. There is generally, yelling involved but you try What is your greatest failure, and what did you learn from it? The greatest failure I ever had was when I rolled my 1990 Bronco 2 when I was a teen. I was over confident and I believed that I was invincible. I was going too fast down a gravel road and then a turn came up and I wasn't ready. I learned quickly that not everything is able to be controlled some things happen that are beyond your control. The best thing you can do in these situations is simply maintain a level head and work through the situation.
