    Time with the LLA community:
    Estimated before 2009
    Time as Administrator:
4 months then took a break Came back in Late October 2013.
    Current administrator rank:
    Administrator
Have you ever been banned, if so why?
I have banned via joke reasons. I have also banned myself when I felt I have gone over the line ICly.
Have you ever been terminated from the admin team, if so why?
Yes, during February I had been terminated from the admin team. I was being extremely adamant and disrespectful in my behavior towards RebelAmerica and judgement. I lashed out with negativity and I was rightfully terminated for my behavior.
    Tell me about yourself?
I am Brendan M******, I work at R********.com as a customer loyalist specialist. Its my job to work hundreds of cases a day taking interesting situations and trying to resolve them in a manner that satisfies both what we are capable of doing and the customer's desires.
    What are your strengths?
I am a quick study and learn from my mistakes. I realize I am human and I make mistakes but I do not put blame on others I simply study the mistakes I have made and learn from them.

I excel at teaching new admins, I may not be the best admin myself but I am good at teaching what it means to judge a players intent. I am tough on trial-mins and love finding ways to test them to make them into better admin.
Open-minded and ready to listen to any side of a situation in order give an unbiased opinion of a situation. There will be times where I say things to get on people's nerves but normally its so that I can get a fair assessment of their character. I can see that other head-mins have used that method before and it honestly worked quite well against my favor in the past.
    What are your weaknesses?
I have noticed that many times I have been too quick to make judgments. I have been working on slowing down the process waiting a bit longer and gathering more information before making any unusual or important calls.

I have poor memory involving major events. Though I am good at keeping notes and I can manage a lot of information over a long period of time in these notes. Because of this poor memory I have a hard time staying angry or holding grudges with people but I do understand the logical reasons why some people should not be fully forgiven without showing intent of change.

I work 1pm-10pm central at a job that is a 1 hour drive to work and a 1 hour drive from work. These means that for 10 hours out of the day I am unable to log in and admin. Though, that same weakness allows me to be on the forums during that time making me available to contact for quite a bit of time consistently during the day.
Why do you want this position?
I love training trial-mins, Love this community and I believe that I could handle the responsibilities required for this role.
What can you bring to this position that other candidates cannot?
I bring my own personal blend of experience and understanding of this community. I have been with LLA for quite a while and I have always cherished its unique ability to look at a player based on their intent and not falling into ridged rules. We have always been able to look at every case on a individual basis and never take everything from an absolutist stand.
What is the LLA to you?
The LLA is a gaming community. A group of players who like similar games that work together to have enjoyment at those games. They play together on byond, steam and GoG.com. Just like all communities people come and go but it works like a psudo-family.
Have you ever been in a position of leadership in the past outside of SS13 administration, explain?
When I was working for my Bachelors of Science is Computer Programming I was put into situations where I had to lead team projects.
Give me an example of a time you felt you went above and beyond the call of duty as an administrator?
I never felt I have went above and beyond the call of duty as an administrator. This is volunteer work and I do out of my desire to help the community so no matter what actions I have taken to help the community is always within the call of duty. Staying up a couple hours later simply to make sure a case gets finished or burning time before a work shift is volunteer work.
Have you ever been on a team where someone was not pulling their own weight? How did you handle it?
Every team I have ever been on has someone that was not pulling their own weight. The best solution is not to ignore them and pick up the slack they are falling behind but to learn about them. If you can figure out someone's strengths and weaknesses they may not be able to do as much as everyone else but you can allow them to be involved in the group. Sure there will be some who pick up the slack but the feeling of participation with the entire team can help elevate the team-member.
Tell me about a time when you had to give someone difficult feedback. How did you handle it?
There are times when I must call up a customer and inform them that the estimated shipping dates have changed due to back orders. There is generally, yelling involved but you try
What is your greatest failure, and what did you learn from it?
The greatest failure I ever had was when I rolled my 1990 Bronco 2 when I was a teen. I was over confident and I believed that I was invincible. I was going too fast down a gravel road and then a turn came up and I wasn't ready.

I learned quickly that not everything is able to be controlled some things happen that are beyond your control. The best thing you can do in these situations is simply maintain a level head and work through the situation.

What irritates you about other people, and how do you deal with it?
Whinny people who thinks everyone else owes them. I deal with it by ignoring that behavior and just treating them like a normal person. It doesn't matter how a person irritates when maintaining professionalism you separate yourself from the situation and handle it based on the evidence gained.
If I were your supervisor and I asked you to do something that you disagreed with, what would you do?
Voice why I believe its a poor idea then do it. I allow for communication to re-assess the order but I make sure that I still follow the order in the end. Generally, a boss will have looked at all the sides of a situation before making a decision. Its good to listen to others but still be decisive with your choices.
Have you ever had an assignment that was too difficult for you, how did you resolve the issue?
Yes, I had a few homework assignments that were too difficult for me to handle. I contacted DracheX and he helped me with my coding solutions. This is not a solo job, this is simply a position on the team and the team is still there to work along side. I do not need to handle every impossible decision on my own I do have opinions and views of others I can look at when making choices.
How would you go about establishing your credibility quickly with the team?
Communicating with them. There will always be though who question your credibility but as long as you maintain good communication and do not cave to the nay-Sayers over time the credibility will establish its self.
How long will it take for you to make a significant contribution to the team?
This depends on how long it takes for me to hire and train the next great admin. I am not a head admin to make major changes to how the game is played as that is the coders job. Everything is based on intent and I have no intent to change that principle.
What do you see yourself doing within the first 30 days of this job?
Communication lots of it. In the first 30 days of this job I will be spending most of my time communicating with all the admins in private trying understand what they are looking for in me. I understand that I cannot be what everyone is looking for but if I can assess what they need me to be.
If selected for this position, can you describe your strategy for the first 90 days?
The next two months would be based on the information I gained in the first month. I am a tactician not a strategist I am not good at planning too far head waiting for my plans to go wrong. I would rather take in the field and make judgments according to the situation at hand.
If you were an animal, which one would you want to be and why?
I would be a fox because it would be fun to burrow into the dirt and keep out of sight. Being sly and hard to find.
If you could choose one superhero power, what would it be and why?
The ability to teleport so I can be more everywhere at once.
    Where is waldo?
Waldo is everywhere there is not just one odd person in a crowd but there are many odd people in the world.

  3. Going to have to say -support, unfortunately. It is mature and responsible of you to admit to your weaknesses and problematic aspects of your history, but there are plenty of people applying for the headmin slot who have cleaner records and leave less to be concerned about.

I'm against this, I don't believe frio has the mentality to handle the position responsibly. I've only ever seen Frio as a hipster and ego-centrist. It's not something I want to see in a head administrator and I don't think he can handle all the communication and argument analyzing that would be involved.

Frio you taught me a lot during my trial period but i do not think that you are the right pick for headmin. Great admin though, i wish to see you reclaim your primary throne one day.

Frio is one of the rare gems of humanity where they can handle their work with a smile and still take care of their families in the other hands (Like my headset proved numerous times!).

Not only knowledgeable of the community, SS13, and the ways to diplomaticly handle a situation, Frio is one fun dude that never stopped his ways to love this game while maintaining and acceptable level of presence on the battlefield.

I believe Frio, with his heart, his mind, and his skills, would be able to run this community I once cherised and make it better, something I do not get from other applicants.

    1) Have you played lately, besides admining? If not, why?
    2) Which IC names do you regularly use?
    3) Which jobs do you pick, and why?
    4) What activities usually take most of your time while playing (chasing criminal scum, breeding slimes, greytiding, drinking fuel...)?
    5) Have you been antag lately?
    6) How do you feel with the current rules and what would you change?
    7) How far will a player have to go to get banned or job-banned?
    8) What is the minimal responsibility of someone picking an important job in the station (AI, Captain, CE, Sec Officer...)?
  12. Legato_frio

    1. Yes, I play one round every night after work and I play multiple rounds on the weekends when I get time.
    2. Mishi Flora, Brendan Blackwell, Uki Mika
    3. Medical, Security and Engineering. I love running around challenging myself to see how many random crew members I can bring back from crit as a medic. I generally have great RP times doing this. I enjoy being security and investigating situations and having a good story when I get rousted by some assistant. Its always good for a laugh. Engineering I will get the engine started then I wait till everything breaks and start to problem solve.
    4. Wandering around aimlessly, finding crew members to talk too, when things start to go wrong I generally put myself in danger not necessarily to help people, more too see if i can meet the challenge of the issue at hand.

    5. I have antag roles disabled I hate getting assassinations missions so I would rather not.
    6. Current rules that are based around intent are great, I would change rules only as the community sees it as a necessity, things change over time and our rules change with it as long as they maintain the core principles.
    7. Getting banned is determined by the players inability to want to learn from the mistake. The intent of the player is important but if they can learn from it banning is not needed. As for job banning though, jobs are privileges that can be re-earned if abused. Players that abuse their role in order to grief other players lose their privilege to that role.
    8. AI = Help people out of rooms they cannot escape on their own, lock down antags that are blatantly obvious. Captain= Get the disk, make sure head of security isn't abusing or allowing sec to abuse crew-members. Chief Engineer= Engine needs to be running. Head of Personal= Protect Ian, Change a few jobs early in the round. RD= Making sure bombs, Robots and Ai are not killing everyone. Chief Medical officer= Needs to know surgery, preventing virologist from releasing viruses across the station. Security= Preventing violent criminals from hurting people. Security does not have to brig on every first offense if the suspect is talking and cooperating. Finally, the clown= Clowns job is to be the guardian of the station he must pretend to be innocent slowly building up his weapons and slippery toys so in the event of a major catastrophe he must be able to defeat the bag guys and save as many lives as possible. When people are hurt and all hope seems lost its the hilarious squeaks of its shoes and the horn that can restore hope to the station.

    1) I like that. +1
    2) Your names don't particularly ring a bell, besides perhaps Uki Mika, but glad to know you don't hide them. 0
    3) I like that. +1
    4) I like that. +1
    5) There are ways to bring your target back to playing, such as borging, soul stoning or adamantine golem breeding. Or you can force the shuttle called to shorten their misery. Do you feel you can put yourself in the position of those just itching to legitimately kill others?
    6) Understood. 0
    7) I like that. +1
    8)
    A) What if the AI refuses to let people escape from said rooms or simply ignores their requests (while accepting others or acting on its own somewhere else not vital)?
    B) What if the Captain ignores the disk, how his employees perform and the crew's complaints?
    C) What if the CE just ignores power and hull breaches?
    D) What if the HoP just goes Owl Man Commando maint-crawling with all access and gear?
    E) What if RD just spends round building himself a Gygax and ignoring the rest? Or turning himself into a slime, or similar.
    F) What if the CMO releases annoying viruses, lubes the floors, gets hulk and smashes around the station walls?
    G) What if security does absolutely nothing, ignoring even people killing or otherwise griefing others in front of them?
    H) What if the clown claims to be allergic to bananas, forsakes his squeaky shoes and noisy bike horn, makes a vow of silence and changes his colorful clothing for white-and-black stripped patterns?

    5) I have been antag many times before. I am never itching to kill anyone and many of the best ways to be successful at the job is to kill people.
8)These were all personal goals and guidelines to these roles. Everyone can have their own play-style when doing a role as long as the role isn't abused by creating a major OOC style issue I won't do anything if they forget to follow my guidelines.
