Weekly Don Report MASS MURDER IN 53 AQUARII, 43 PILOTS MISSING. On Sunday, shortly after the civil war between the Network and Justice Party ended, many of the mercenaries collecting combat bonds for the DJP returned to their home systems. A primary home to these payed gunners was 53 Aquarii. Many returned to serving as petty bounty hunters, traders, or even vigilantes. Not two days after many returned, however, did disaster strike. A small team of heavily armed ships warped into 53 Aquarii, and systematically assassinated backers of the DJP during the civil war. Any resistance by Federal enforcements resulted in a bloodbath as the terrorists easily outgunned anything thrown at them. By the time sufficient Federal forces arrived, the culprits were gone, and there were 43 confirmed civilian casualties. The populous went into an uproar, destroying government buildings, looting city halls, and attacking security checkpoints. Once order was restored on Wednesday, the 53 Aquarii Alliance spokesperson promised that these criminals would be found, and brought to justice. Upon interrogation of Don Network officials in regards to the connection of all victims to the civil war, they claimed that there was no correlation between them, and the "dishonorable bandits" as one representative said. Federal investigation is suspected to continue on through the coming weeks. LIBERTIES LAST ARMY: FROM FREEDOM FIGHTERS TO REBELLION SPAWNERS? Throughout the week, Don Network influence rates have sky rocketed, reaching a high of 25.2% on Friday evening, compared to a 56% of the Independents of Don that same day. Many see a conflict arising between the two factions in the future, especially considering the verbose attitude the Network has "donned" since their victory at Alcala. Network officials assure that they have no quarrel with the Federation, and are firm allies with the Independents of Don, many have begun to question the trustworthiness of the Network, and their personal backers, Liberties Last Army. With increased tension with the surrounding 53 Aquarii Alliance, the Network is in hot water. During a pres conference following the surge in Network influence, CMDR Roy Blackwell, the leader of LLA, stated that their contract with the Don Network did not entail the destruction of Federal troops or property, and that during this time of peace, only those who disrupt the law set down by the Independents would have to fear intervention via LLA. TRADE AGREEMENT SIGNED BETWEEN THE DON NETWORK AND RA EMPIRE PARTY With the coming of peace, means the coming of peace economy. The Network wasted no time re-routing their trade routes for peace-time needs. One of their first allies to sign on was a sizable party of Imperials based out of the nearby Ra system 20 ly away. Many pilots supporting the Network have traveled to Ra to either trade, or build reputation with the Empire. In a predominantly Federally owned part of space, seeing a thriving trade relationship between an Imperial and Independent faction is a site to behold. For pilots interested in getting on the good side of the Empire, Ra might be your best bet.
